Steak

The faces in the crowd,
pan seared potatoes,
impersonal and disguised.
A glass of wine, like seasoned time.
The salad is crisp like fresh heads
put together to solve a math problem.

Being a menace is easy.

The faces in the pews,
holy poverty diminished,
personal and open.
A glass of wine, like seasoned time.
The Eucharist is crisp like fresh prayer
put together on a record player.

Being a choir member is difficult.

The faces on the stairs,
holy and diminished,
A glass of wine, like seasoned time.
The bread is fresh, like lettuce,
crisp, put together on a record player shaped
dish. A telescope visualizing the planets.
